Psychoeducational Assessment
Meadowlark Psychology provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents (aged 6-16).
Psychoeducational assessments are designed to clarify learning profiles, cognitive strengths, and academic difficulties.
The aim is to provide clear, evidence-informed conclusions and practical recommendations that support learning in school, university, and home environments.
While some assessments may result in a diagnosis, the primary purpose is to understand how a young person learns and where targeted support may be helpful.
-
A psychoeducational assessment may be helpful where there are concerns about:
Specific Learning Disorder (reading, writing, mathematics)
Intellectual functioning
Academic performance that appears inconsistent with ability
Processing strengths and weaknesses affecting learning
Ongoing academic difficulty despite classroom support
Examination access arrangements or educational documentation requirements
-
This practice provides assessment and diagnostic clarification in relation to:
Specific Learning Disorders
Intellectual Disability
Cognitive strengths and weaknesses relevant to educational planning
This practice does not provide diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Where concerns primarily relate to ASD or ADHD, referral to an appropriately qualified multidisciplinary or medical service is recommended.
