About Meadowlark Psychology
Meadowlark Psychology was founded on the belief that young people deserve to be taken seriously, listened to carefully, and supported in ways that respect their individuality and identity.
Nathan McNamara is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist (Registrar) and APS Board-approved Supervisor. He is Head of Psychological Services at Ruyton Girls’ School, and previously worked for four years as a school psychologist at St Michael’s Grammar School.
Nathan supports adolescents and young adults experiencing concerns related to anxiety, mood, self-esteem, identity, family relationships, school avoidance, and the transition into early adulthood. His work focuses on helping young people understand the patterns shaping their thoughts, emotions, behaviour, and relationships, and develop practical ways of responding to these challenges.
For school-aged clients, Nathan’s background in education allows him to work constructively with families and schools while keeping the young person’s voice and needs central. He works from a neuroaffirming and inclusive framework, and aims to provide a respectful space for neurodivergent young people, LGBTQIA+ clients, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, particularly after recently welcoming his first child. When time allows, he enjoys exercising, playing guitar, and baking.
Meadowlark Psychology is Nathan’s private practice: a space for young people to build self-understanding, confidence, and clarity about what matters to them.
